Thursday, April 24th, 7PM-????: Tune Up Cruise-in at Dairy Queen on US 27 (stoplight #6) If you live locally or are planning on getting to town early, join as we relax and tell some cruisin' tales while enjoying some tasty ice cream! This is a very relaxing way to kick off the cruisin' weekend. Friday, April 25th, Noon-2PM: Early Bird Meet & Greet/Q97 Live Remote from Visitors Center! 1 block west of Kmart on Hwy 80, stop by and say "hi!", FREE Pepsi's and T-shirts along with great classic rock from Q97! We would love to meet you! Friday, April 25th, 6PM-10PM: Wal-Mart's Rock & Roll Block Party at stoplight #13 on US 27! Bring your classic or hotrod and enjoy fun for the entire family! Door prizes, costume contests, food, live bands and dancing! Over 250 showcars attend this event each month, don't miss it! Saturday, April 26th, Opening Day, 2008, 8:30AM-9:30AM: Saturday Morning Fun Run ***Grand Central Shopping Center, at stoplight #18***Fun Run participants will receive a FREE breakfast at the Rally Point before departing. We depart at 9:30AM promptly for the April destination...a guided tour of Mill Springs Civil War Battlefield! This is a fun and informative living history event. Bring your camera's and camcorders. Saturday, April 26th, 2PM: Cruise Entrance Gates Open in Downtown Somerset for the Show & Shine!!! The '08 cruise season begins with the 50/50 Celebration of our 50th event! To celebrate this milestone and to thank you all for helping us get to this point, we are offering the first 1500 participants a free 50-cent piece attached to a Thank You Card that will feature special 50-cent offers from some of our local Sponsors! That's right! It's unheard of but...we are paying YOU to come to SomernitesCruise!!! It's our 50/50 Celebration! A new feature for the April 26th show this year is the Hotrod Haulers area. All hotrod, classic, custom and pro street truck owners, we have set aside a special area inside the Show & Shine for you to display your showtrucks! It's completely free and will be open to all brands and makes...from mild to wild! Sponsored by our good friends at GatorMade Trailers! Cornhole Tournament at Somernites! Start practicing now for the monthly Cornhole Tournament to be held during the Show & Shine! The Young Chamber Professionals of Lake Cumberland will host the games in the parking lot next to the old Library. Registration begins at 2:00PM and the first cornbag will be tossed at 4:30PM. Cost is $20 per team and the winners will split the pot with the March of Dimes for charity. It's for a great cause so, don't miss out! Saturday, April 26th, 8PM-???? Cruisin' The Strip!
