Tune Up Cruise-in at Dairy Queen on US 27 (stoplight #6)
If you live locally or are planning on getting to town early, join as we relax and tell some cruisin' tales
while enjoying some tasty ice cream! This is a very relaxing way to kick off the cruisin' weekend.


Noon-2PM:
Early Bird Meet & Greet/Q97 Live Remote from Visitors Center!
1 block west of Kmart on Hwy 80, stop by and say "hi!", FREE Pepsi's and T-shirts along with great
classic rock from Q97! We would love to meet you!

6PM-10PM:
Wal-Mart's Rock & Roll Block Party at stoplight #13 on US 27!
Bring your classic or hotrod and enjoy fun for the entire family! Door prizes, costume contests, food, live
bands and dancing! Over 250 showcars attend this event each month, don't miss it!

8:30AM-9:30AM:
Saturday Morning Fun Run ***Grand Central Shopping Center, at stoplight
#18***Fun Run participants will receive a FREE breakfast at the Rally Point
before departing.
We depart at 9:30AM promptly for the May destination...LONDON DRAGWAY!!! It's time to hit the strip
and settle some scores! Challenge your friends to some friendly drag racing competition or just see
what your ride will do! Unlimited passes down the strip for only $15! Spectators pay only $5!
Timeslips for all passes! No dragcars allowed, street legal cars & trucks only! Bring your timeslips
to the Show & Shine later in the day to win prizes in the following classes: Low ET, Highest MPH and
Best Reaction Time. Competition open to all cars & trucks that participate so, save your timeslips!


2PM:
Cruise Entrance Gates Open in Downtown Somerset for the Show &
Shine!!!
Blocks and blocks of showcars and trucks! Stroll thru the downtown area admiring all the chrome
and horsepower, talk to car owners and enjoy the family oriented atmosphere! Don't forget to visit
our official merchandise trailer for the brand new '08 t-shirts for adults and kids. In the Vendor Alley,
you can sample great food, check out vendor displays and shop for new performance and
restoration parts. There is always plenty to see and do at SomernitesCruise! Stop by the DJ trailer
and leave us a bumper sticker or dash plaque with your car club's name on it and we will display it
proudly in the trailer! You will enjoy the great cruisin' tunes all over town too!

May is Mustang Alley month!!!
Back by overwhelming demand! A show-within-the-show just for Mustang owners! We are setting
aside a special area to feature all makes and models of Mustangs only! Look for special displays in
the pony corral as well! Mustang Alley was by far the most popular of our monthly features last year
and we expect an even greater turnout this year!  Sponsored by Alton Blakely Ford of Somerset!

Cornhole Tournament at Somernites!
Start practicing now for the monthly Cornhole Tournament to be held during the Show & Shine! The
Young Chamber Professionals of Lake Cumberland will host the games in the parking lot next to the
old Library. Registration begins at 2:00PM and the first cornbag will be tossed at 4:30PM. Cost is $20
per team and the winners will split the pot with the March of Dimes for charity. It's for a great cause
so, don't miss out!   

God's Food Pantry Walk-A-Thon!
God's Food Pantry will be hosting a Walk-A-Thon beginning Saturday at 4:00PM during the Show &
Shine at the South Central Street location. You can help them "Stomp Out Hunger!". Registration
opens at 3:00PM and you can stop by and register your Sponsors ($10 for 1 mile or $20 for 2 miles)
or simply make a donation to help this worthy cause. You will receive a Certificate of Appreciation
for your help, the knowledge that you are doing something good to help those less fortunate and
some good exercise for the day! Those wishing to pickup a Sponsorship form should contact God's

Cruisin' The Strip!
We know it's one of the main reasons you come to SomernitesCruise so, get your car out on "the
strip" and cruise! Thousands of spectators waving and cheering from streetside! Lots of activities at
businesses up and down the strip. Tune your radio to 97.1FM for great tunes and cruise the night
away! There's plenty to see and do, just remember...we want to see you cruising your car or truck!
