| Last Cruise of '09 will soon be here! We are fast approching the final Somernites Cruise event of 2009! Saturday, October 24th is only a few days away and we are ready to wrap up the cruise season in style! This will be your last chance to cruise your showcar or truck to Somernites in '09. It's a long time till April of next year so, get your ride out and join us on Oct. 24th for one last cruise this season! Here is a brief rundown of what to look forward to at the October show... Friday night (October 23rd) will feature this season's last Rock & Roll Block Party presented by Walmart and hosted by The Center for Rural Development (at stoplight # 15 on US 27). The free fun starts at 6pm and features live music, great food and special attractions for the kids! It's a great time for the entire family! During this month's Show & Shine in downtown Somerset, we will conclude the special Charity Auction to benefit the Roy 'Pepper' Pulley Foundation. Due to rain, it was only 1/2 completed last month and there are still lots of great items to bid on! All proceeds from this auction will be used to send underpriviledged kids to camp. Please plan to attend with an open and generous heart. Let's help 'Pepper's Kid's'! The Saturday Morning Fun Run will meet at the usual rally point; Grand Central Shopping Center at 8:30am for some FREE breakfast for Fun Run participants. This month's destination will be the 'Niagara Of The South', Cumberland Falls! We roll out at 9:30am sharp! The Show & Shine in downtown Somerset kicks off at 2pm and this month we will feature not one but, two specialty areas! Hotrod Haulers and European Cars will each have their own show-within-a-show at the Oct. cruise! Halloween Costume Contest! Wear your favorite car related costume and you could be our contest winner! Adults and kids! Costumes must be car themed characters such as Elvis, Happy Day's, Andy Griffith, Dukes of Hazard, etc. Don't forget that we have two super prizes to award at the show this month! That awesome 2009 Challenger and the Gatormade Enclosed Car Hauler are going to have new owners when the show is over! Do you have your raffle tickets on either OR BOTH? Make plans to be at this show to purchase a handful and you maybe be a big winner! At 8pm we will line up for the Parade of Classics and head out to US 27 ('the strip) for some cruising action! Please be courteous and observe all posted traffic laws while cruising your ride on 'the strip'.
