| SomernitesCruise is very pleased to again have Holley Performance as the title sponsor for our July 26th Power Cruise! This page is the official "home" of the Power Cruise and you will be able to use it to plan your participation in the 2008 event. Please see the INTERACTIVE MAP, the REGISTRATION CENTER and the ARCHIVE from previous Power Cruise events. For times, contact info and access to your closest rally point, please chose from the four cities listed at the top right of the page. By pre-registering the number of cars you will have accompanying you on the cruise, the Somernites Team will be able to better plan for the actual needs of each rally point on Power Cruise day. What exactly is the Power Cruise? The Power Cruise is a fun, rolling, car show that originates from several cities (Cincinnati, Knoxville, Louisville, Bowling Green and Manchester) on the morning of Saturday, July 26th and will make its way non-stop to Somerset to join in the largest monthly "car event" in the state of Kentucky; SomernitesCruise! Once we arrive in Somerset, all legs of the Power Cruise will stop at The Center for Rural Development for lunch and to relax before moving on to downtown and the Show & Shine. The lunch is being provided by Bluegrass Barbeque and cost is $5 per meal and includes a sandwich, chips and drink. $1 from each meal sold will benefit the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Project! This very important effort offers disadvantaged, disabled and critically ill children the chance to attend a Summer camp that would otherwise be unavailable to them. Last year, even with rainy weather, we had a super turnout with approx. 600 showcars and trucks taking part in the Power Cruise and a new all time attendance record of 1,853 cruisers for the Show & Shine downtown! Once again, V8TV will be covering the event and shooting footage for a special edition DVD that will be available for purchase later this year. In addition, writers from Musclecar Enthusiast and Cars & Parts magazines will be onhand shooting pics and talking with car owners for upcoming articles. All participants will receive a free 2008 Power Cruise window sticker as well! The Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 AMP car will also be on display along with many national restoration and performance parts vendors and special displays! Just imagine being a part of all |
