Tune Up Cruise-in at Dairy Queen
on US 27 (stoplight #6)
If you live locally or are planning on getting to town
early, join as we relax and tell some cruisin' tales
while enjoying some tasty ice cream! This is a very
relaxing way to kick off the cruisin' weekend.
Friday, September 25th, Noon-2PM:
Early Bird Meet & Greet/Q97 Live Remote from Visitors Center!
1 block west of Kmart on Hwy 80, stop by and say "hi!", FREE Pepsi's and T-shirts along with great
classic rock from Classic Hits Q97! Cruise Team members will be onhand and we would love to meet
you!
Friday, September 25th, 6PM-10PM:
***New Location and Bigger than ever!***
Rock & Roll Block Party presented by
Somerset Walmart is now at stoplight #15
(The Center) on US 27!
Bring your classic or hotrod and enjoy this fun, “ must do”
for the entire family! Door prizes, contests, food, live bands
and dancing! Over 250 showcars attend this event each
month, don't miss it! Feel free to “cruise the strip” on
Friday night as well! Cruise weekend is just getting started!
***A special event at the Block Party this month!***
We will be holding our yearly charity auction to benefit the Roy “Pepper” Pulley Foundation during the
Block Party this year! This great cause sends underprivileged children to camp. Lots of great items
will be available for you to win! We know times are tough and they are especially tough for kids. So,
please bid with your heart and help as much as you can! The rain date will be the October Friday
night Block Party.
Friday, September 25th, 10PM-2AM:
***New Event! Midnight Madness at London Dragway!***
Grudge race, test & tune or simply have some fun at the dragstrip! Cost is $10 per car and there is
no limit on the number of timed passes you can make. A caravan from the Wal-Mart Block Party will
leave at 9:15pm to head over to the track. The Rally area will be the parking lot in front of Lowes
Home Center. Brought to you by London Dragway and KyStreets.com
Saturday, September 26th, 8:30AM:
Saturday Morning Fun Run ***Grand
Central Shopping Center, at stoplight
#18***Fun Run participants will receive
a FREE breakfast and a drawing will be
held for one detail & cleanup package
valued at $50-$75 courtesy of Grand
Central Merchants!
We will gather from 8:30-9:30AM as usual for the
September Fun Run. This month the Somerset Junior
Women's Club invite you to join in their Charity Poker
Run to benefit the SWJC Scholarship Fund! This Poker
Run will feature a tour of many area tourist spots and
will finish up at Dairy Queen on 'the strip'. The run will
be led so don't worry about getting lost! Cost is $20 per
car with the option of buying another hand for only $10.
Please join in the fun and help a great cause!

Cruise Entrance Gates Open in Downtown
Somerset for the Show & Shine!!!
It’s the Big Show!!! Blocks and blocks of showcars and
trucks! Stroll thru the downtown area admiring all the
chrome and horsepower, talk to car owners and enjoy the
family oriented atmosphere! Don't forget to visit our official
merchandise trailer for the brand new '09 t-shirts for adults
and kids. In the Vendor Alley, you can sample great food,
check out vendor displays and shop for new performance
and restoration parts. There is always plenty to see and do
at SomernitesCruise! You will enjoy the great cruisin' tunes all over town too!

It's time to celebrate America's Sportscar! We're talking
about the Corvette and September is their month to shine
at Somernites Cruise! From the sharp little original 6
cylinder's thru big block 427's and right up to the new world
lass ZR1's of today, these are truly America's favorites
and we want to see yours! Once again we will provide
an exclusive area inside the Somernites Show & Shine
for Corvettes only! This event is sponsored by your local
source for Corvette's, Somerset Automotive Group!
Cruisin' The Strip all weekend!
We know it's one of the main reasons you come to SomernitesCruise so, get your car out on “the
strip” and cruise! Thousands of spectators waving and cheering from streetside! Lots of activities at
businesses up and down the strip. Tune your radio to 97.1FM for great tunes and cruise the night
away! There's plenty to see and do. We want to see you cruising your car or truck! It's a blast!
Please cruise in the outside lanes, be courteous and obey all posted traffic laws. We want to see
you again next month!
Celebration Of Freedom!
6:00-6:30PM
Freedom is not free.
Beginning in 2001 we set aside a few moments each September to recognize and thank our Military,
Police & Fire personnel along with all First Responders. We do this in honor of those who gave their
lives on 9/11 and those who put their lives on the line each and every day. This short program will
feature a welcome from local dignitaries, keynote address from a Special Guest as well as patriotic
and inspirational music.
During this program, we ask that you do not start your engines.
We also encourage you to display the American Flag on your showcar or truck in a respectful
manner.
Saturday, 2PM at Somerset Library (south end of downtown):
FREE Classic Car Flicks series featuring..."Smokey & The Bandit"
East bound and down with Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jackie Gleason!
Car Corral! Buy & sell your streetrods, hotrods and musclecars at
Somernites Cruise!
Do you have too many hotrods or are you in the market for one? We are setting aside a special lot to
sell your showcar or truck! Cost is $20 per show. Just ask for info as you enter the Show & Shine
gates. You may also email us thru the website for additional details.
